Nothing new

It has been so long since our last blog post. We had a wonderful Christmas in Lubbock where we enjoyed Chris' family and ate an insurmountable amount of food. We have taken several hiking trips to the North Cascades and one to the Olympic mountains. The more I live in Seattle, the more I am convinced that it is the most beautiful place on earth! Jackson and I took our first inaugural trip back to Oklahoma mid-January for a wedding. It was wonderful to see everyone until I came down with the influenza virus and pneumonia. It was a tough trip back but we finally made in time for Chris' sisters to come. Lauren and Magen (Chris' sisters) came up for a weekend trip to see us. (You can check out her website for pictures) Jackson has made three new friends that he loves to go on playdates with. We are slowly getting more involved in the community and are loving Seattle more. I wish I could post pictures of all of our glorious trips, yet as most of you know, our computer is dying a slow and painful death. We have no more room for anything on it. Until we get it fixed (or buy a new one) you guys will just have to live with our old pictures. Much love.

Baby, It's Cold Outside...

On Saturday afternoon, Jackson, Chris and I were getting ready to head out to the mall to do some Christmas shopping, when we looked outside and saw that it had just started SNOWING! When we moved here, we were told that it NEVER snowed in Seattle. We got around 3 1/2 inches in only a few hours. The snowflakes were the biggest I have ever seen. The snow only stayed for that day (before the constant rain started) but it was beautiful and a great way to begin the Christmas season!

Jack was SO excited about the snow!

My Brother's Wedding

My brother Jason and his lovely new wife were married the Saturday after Thanksgiving. They were married at Ft. Reno in a beautiful little chapel. We had a great time being together and witnessing their blessed union. Here are a few pictures...

This last picture is from Thanksgiving but I couldn't resist...

Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving weekend was one of a kind this year. It was Jack's first time to ride on an airplane to go visit Papa and Grandby (along with his numerous cousins, aunts and uncles). He was the best kid on the plane! It was great to see my family after being gone for over a month. The weekend was full of late nights, lots of food and great time with all of my family.Enjoy all of the pictures!

All of the grandkids came over to enjoy some cookie decorating. Grandby (my mom) got all of the kids aprons and chef hats so that they could decorate in style!

A tribute to our INCREDIBLE Daddy!

This is a tribute to Jack's amazing daddy and my wonderful husband. Since we recently moved, we have very little need for the 100 empty boxes in our basement. We were slowly going to put them in the recycle bin for the next few months but Chris had a better idea. Saturday morning, Chris let me sleep in. While I was fast asleep in my bed, Chris took Jack downstairs to the garage to build the best cardboard castle on this side of the world complete with its own mailbox. Thanks to my husband and his ingenuity, we no longer have 100 boxes in our basement and Jack has the most amazing fort to create and play in. What can I say, he is amazing!

(Enjoy the picture of Uncle Chris posing in the fort--He was demonstrating that grown ups can fit inside too!)

Mt. Rainier

We finally got to make it down to Mt. Rainier this weekend. It was absolutely gorgeous! We had a blast hiking and exploring the Cascade Mts. Enjoy the pictures!
